Associate Technical Professional, Fire Protection
The successful candidate for this position will work as a Fire Protection Engineer on a project under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering. Experience will be acquired in the design and procurement of the fire protection systems specified including fire water pumps, underground fire water distribution systems, sprinkler systems, deluge systems, foam systems and fire and gas detection and alarm systems.
The fire protection engineer will also acuire skills for defining the extent of hazardous electrical areas based on the recommendations of NFPA and API.
Fire Protection Engineer: (0-2) years experience) An engineering degree from an accredited university (fire protection or chemical).
