Provide senior management of all technology and communications services including: academic and administrative enterprise computing, instructional technology and integration, helpdesk and desktop support, faculty professional development for new technology, learning systems and teaching strategies for classrooms and online environments, media services, telecommunications and VOIP, network and telecommunications infrastructure, and web development. In addition, the Associate Vice President serves as the campus technology liaison to the PASSHE CITO group for coordination of technology services, policy and vision, requiring limited travel to Harrisburg, PA, or other designated sites.
Minimum requirements: Graduate degree from a regionally accredited university (or foreign equivalent) in a discipline related to technology or higher education administration; minimum of 12 years of progressive responsibility for technology management or other relevant leadership positions; and successful completion of an on-campus interview. Additional five years of experience may be substituted for advanced degree. Additional qualifications: A strong knowledge of higher education administrative and academic support services, student support services, and building and contract management; extensive experience and knowledge of finance and budget planning; proficiency in strategic planning and managing organizational change in a technology program; knowledge of and experience in planning and implementing technology solutions, the ability to formulate clear policies governing technology use; the ability to motivate, supervise and evaluate technical teams, ensuring accountability for performance goals; experience leading and managing effectively within a collective bargaining environment; effectiveness in engaging faculty in using technology to advance student success in the classroom and promote retention; expertise in working with a wide variety of constituent groups including students, parents, staff, faculty, colleagues, and the community; effective interpersonal and team development skills; the ability to write and communicate clearly and accurately; demonstration, through past accomplishments and actions, the ability to support Mansfield University’s principles and values of Character, Scholarship, Culture, Service (http://www1.mansfield.edu/mansfield-creed) and the University’s strong student-centered vision and mission; knowledge of current issues in higher education technology and instructional methods, and an active commitment to diversity and inclusion. Preferred qualifications: An earned doctorate in a technology-related field; 15-20 years IT management and design experience in a higher education setting; and familiarity with SAP and Datatel. Work effectively with a wide variety of constituent groups including students, university staff, faculty and the public. Also required are keyboarding skills, verbal and written communication skills, ability to travel including a valid driver’s license, math skills, computer skills, and the ability to operate general office equipment. May be required to lift, stand, walk, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, etc.
