The Assistant Store Manager will provide assistance to the Store Manager in sales and merchandising efforts, while also focusing on Human Resources and Operational and Loss Prevention responsibilities.
The Assistant Store Manager is also responsible for the receiving team, maintaining and strategically overseeing the budget and expenses, audit and safety compliance as well as the recruitment and selection of associates, training, retention and performance management. This manager strives to achieve the goals of the store as well as the Clearance Division. They assist the Store Manager in driving sales and plus plan results through superior customer service, events, promotions, and motivation of the staff. This manager will also contribute to the maintenance of the store through daily recovery.
Create a friendly, upbeat atmosphere where customer service is consistent with Neiman Marcus standards
Set strategic objectives and set seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily priorities accordingly.
Communicate daily with the store team
Plan and execute store budgets and make sure that goals are being met
Develop, motivate and train the staff
Recognize great performance and address performance issues
Manage the hiring process
Recruit, hire, train and develop a customer service oriented staff to achieve positive results
Communicate and partner with the appropriate Corporate partners to achieve resolutions
Know the Company's policies and procedures and ensure that the store is in compliance
Manage associate relations, compensation, education, performance and risk management
Audit and safety compliance
Journal and ledger reconciliations
Facilitate the movement of markdown merchandise to the Clearance Division
PREVIOUS MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
Previous retail management experience is preferred
Previous Operational and Human Resources experience
