Rocket Fuel is seeking an experienced transactional attorney with at least 3 years’ experience supporting online advertising driven businesses. Become the second attorney in this fast paced digital advertising technology company, supporting our business development, sales, sales operations teams, facilities and human resources. This role reports to the General Counsel. The right person for this position must be a team player who takes pride in personal excellence, displays a high level of energy and possesses a proven ability to thrive in an a fast paced, high growth environment with rapidly developing businesses and multiple priorities.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Maintain standards for engagement with ad networks, exchanges and other media suppliers, data vendors, brand assurance companies, advertising agencies and brands, and facilitate a positive experience with Rocket Fuel while setting proper client expectations.
Review and agreements with advertisers, agencies and third parties in support of sales and sales operations, including master services agreements, technology and services agreements, standard terms and conditions, and sponsorship and marketing agreements.
Act as escalation point for all advertiser and client related issues, including credit and collections matters.
Advise our clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial deals and the provision of our advertising services.
Front line legal support for our worldwide People organization from onboarding to exits and all employee needs in between.
Real Estate transactions to support our expansion domestically and overseas.
Other matters as needed.
Experience and Skills Required:
At least 3 -5 years transactional legal experience, preferably supporting online advertising companies (ad technology providers, media buying teams, or supply side teams).
A working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
Proven ability to conclude deals on favorable terms in a complex and incredibly dynamic industry environment.
Detailed, hands on experience with IAB/AAAA Standard Terms and Conditions and other industry guidelines a plus.
Background in technology, internet businesses, and data protection issues a plus.
An excellent negotiator with strong influencing skills, experienced at drafting commercial contracts, particularly licensing agreements.
Ability to exercise independent judgment exemplifying a high standard of legal ethics.
Ability to effectively communicate and maintain strong working relationships with employees throughout all parts of our organization as well as consultants, clients and vendors.
A practical and proactive problem-solver with strong business acumen who is confident, mature, and able to juggle multiple priorities and tasks in a fast paced environment with grace and a good sense of humor.
