Reporting to the Executive Director of Technology, the Audio-Visual Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the AV infrastructure of the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation (GSAPP). The Audio-Visual Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the AV infrastructure of GSAPP, including AV enabled classsrooms, auditoriums, and all portable multi-media equipment. Responds to service/repair/assistance requests to troubleshoot and correct any issues as they arise. Works with the IT System Coordinators to ensure that any computing infrastructure in the spaces are interoperating correctly with the AV infrastructure. Works with the Executive Director of Technology to schedule any outside repair vendors as necessary. Maintains a database of installed equipment inventory, including warranty information (if applicable) repair, maintenance and service contracts and history. Responsible for creating and updating/maintaining documentation and user guides for students/faculty users of these spaces and the equipment contained within and will coordinate with the web development team to ensure that this content is updated regularly on the GSAPP website. Provides backup as needed for the School's Audio-Visual Coordinator (Events) to ensure the smooth operation of all audio-visual aspects of the School's extensive public and internal events programs. Supervises student employees as needed. Helps oversee student and faculty reservations, pick-ups and returns of the School's extensive AV inventory. Works with the Executive Director of Technology on equipment purchases to ensure that equipment is meeting the needs of the School's public events and educational mission. Other duties as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Bachelors degree or the equivalent required. Minimum 1-2 years of AV related-experience is required.
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Thorough knowledge of current AV equipment and practices, digital audio and video formats, hardware and software compression technology, and video capture required. Proficiency in video editing and HTML skills required. Must have good oral and written communication skills and work well under pressure. The hours for this position are 8 am - 4 pm daily. Occasional evening or weekend work will be required.
Experience with producing/staffing live events is preferred, as is experience working in an educational or non-profit environment.
