We are currently recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work with our 4-year old son who has mild autism for the position of habilitation therapist and respite provider.
Habilitation Therapists provide one-on-one in-home behavioral and therapeutic interventions for children with autism, designed to develop and enhance critical life skills. Target skill areas include communication, socialization, fine and gross motor, self-help, and adaptive behavior. The job may also include shadowing other private therapists working with the child, outings to locations where other children are available to provide social training opportunities and possible school shadow/aide opportunities over the summer. The respite hours involve engaging the child in productive play and having fun!
If you are a good match for our son, you will be referred to Arizona Autism United to complete an in-person interview and certification courses to finalize the hiring process. You will then be assigned directly to our family and will also have access to other families if additional hours are needed.
Arizona Autism United and the family provide continual on the job training! Early intervention provides the best hope for a child’s future outcome. We are excited to add a new member to our son’s team! This is an amazing opportunity to have fun at work and change a child’s life at the same time!
