Jr. and Sr. Avaya/PBX Specialists needed in Detroit MI : Responsible for telecommunications-related hardware and services. Requires excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills. Utilizes knowledge of telecommunications transport including; T1, T3, ISDN, MPLS, VoIP, SIP or analog services. Will have experience working with various global telecommunication providers and understands the complexities of cross-border circuit provisioning and other telco-provided services as well as ability to identify and resolve telecommunications problems within international markets.


Provide daily operational support to Avaya PBX and associated systems that support the global call center environment

Support development of global telecom standards, routines and maintenance schedules

Functions as a conduit to associated carriers and vendors

Primary tasks:
Providing daily monitoring, trouble shooting, support and development of major Avaya implementations at the Data and Call Centers

Provide technical expertise and leadership in design, testing, implementation, and support of Avaya PBX technology for the global call centers

Apply technologies such as analog and digital circuits, VoIP and SIP to connect sites to the voice network

Provide reporting of system and network performance and capacity needs

Monitor system performance, trouble shoot outages, and manage vendors to insure optimal system performance and delivery against SLAs

Establish and monitor system performance and standard operating procedures within the department and ensure adherence to all corporate objectives

Technical Requirements:
Avaya IP PBXs S87xx/S88xx/ESS - 5+ yrs Expert knowledge

Avaya AAR/ARS - 5+ years Expert knowledge

Avaya - COR design and administration 5+ yrs Expert knowledge

Avaya - Call Vectoring/VDN/Hunt/Split build-outs/Holiday Tables/VAL boards - 5+ years Expert knowledge

Avaya VOIP Integration - 5+ years Expert knowledge

PBX error/alarm troubleshooting - 5+ years Expert knowledge

Avaya Application Enablement Server - 3+ yrs Mid-level knowledge

Avaya PBX remote site administration 3+ yrs Mid-level knowledge

Expertise with enterprise voice network infrastructures

Expertise with transport and development technologies and architectures including; OSI protocols TCP, SSL, IP, HTTP, SIP, RTP, HTML

Expertise with SIP, RTP, TCP/IP, circuit switching, VoIP architecture

Expertise with VoIP and TDM call flows, traffic estimates and impacts

Experience with operating systems including Windows, Unix, and Linux

Technical Working Knowledge:
Genesys CTI Strong comprehension & functional understanding

Avaya CMS server, R13 or later 3+ yrs Mid-level knowledge

Call Recorder: NICE, Verint, Call Copy Administrative and/or implementation

Session Border Controllers Functional knowledge w/ some hands-on

Strong VoIP experience & exposure to SIP

TDM and IP trunking Very experienced

800 toll-free provisioning Intermediate knowledge

Workforce Management/Quality monitoring

IVR - Intermediate knowledge

General Skills:
Departmental operating policies and procedures

Suite of office software and telecommunications software products

Report preparation methods

Customer service principles and techniques

Familiarity with OnStar telecommunication systems and how they relate to client and internal customer needs

In-depth knowledge of IP & digital carrier theory

In-depth knowledge of Telecommunication engineering practices and procedures

Ability to serve as a subject matter resource regarding in-depth, technical telecommunications issues

Experience with large projects across a broad scope of technologies. Experience should include understanding of design and architectural impact on the enterprise and the potential growth of the company and impact to operational organizations

Proven ability to lead broad-scoped projects with minimal guidance

Ability to draft complex telecommunications system plans
