Outside Sales Representative – Business Services Sales Executive

We are seeking honest, competitive and ethical Outside Sales Representatives to close sales of our payment processing systems with merchants throughout your area. As an Outside Sales Representative with Heartland, you will work closely with the Territory Manager during your first 30 days of employment to set appointments and close sales with local businesses. Your manager will accompany you on your initial appointments to demonstrate our short-cycle sales process using atlas , our groundbreaking iPad technological platform for lead generation, sales presentations, on the spot client financial analyses and paperless contract processing. Outside Sales Representative – Business Services Sales Executive

Job Responsibilities

As an Outside Sales Representative with Heartland, you will prospect for new business using atlas , which creates lead lists based on location, competitor market share and area businesses that formerly had accounts with Heartland. You will apply a consultative sales approach to uncover and address client business needs and use atlas to develop financial analyses that show clients how much they would save in three years with Heartland, and shows you how much you will earn from each sale.

Additional responsibilities of the Outside Sales Representative include:
  • Running dynamic sales presentations that highlight the benefits of working with Heartland
  • Explaining our value proposition to clients via atlas on your iPad
  • Closing sales of our payment processing services by having clients sign contracts on the spot
  • Educating merchants and business owners on the payment processing industry
  • Upselling current clients on our gift marketing, lending and other products and services
  • Maintaining regular communication with your Territory Manager

Required Skills Job Requirements

As an Outside Sales Representative with Heartland, you must possess excellent communication, presentation and networking skills and be able to work well independently and as part of a team. Our ideal Outside Sales Representative is an incentive-driven sales “hunter” with a professional demeanor, impeccable integrity, a sense of urgency and innate sales talent and aptitude. You must also enjoy cold-calling and speaking with people face to face and be eager to develop your consultative sales skills.

Additional requirements for the Outside Sales Representative include:
  • Proven track record of pipeline development and closing sales, willing to hire the right individual with no experience
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Computer literacy
  • Commission-based sales background including merchant services, short-cycle sales, outside sales, cold-calling, selling solutions and/or selling to restaurants, retail stores and hospitality businesses preferred
  • Membership in a business or merchant association a plus
  • Bilingual skills a plus
Required Experience As an Outside Sales Representative with Heartland, you can expect average earnings in the range of $65,000 - $95,000 per year in the form of uncapped commission, an unheard of 12-months up-front bonus paid each Friday.
