PURPOSE:
Provide comprehensive support in the design, implementation and administration of corporate health and welfare benefits programs to maintain external competitiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure plan documents are maintained to comply with plan and regulatory changes

Prepare communication materials and provide training to leadership on best practices, programs, and design changes

Conduct analysis assignments involving the development, installation, and administration of benefit programs

Develop cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at a minimum cost to organization and employee

Research best practices to meet the needs of a changing workforce, such as parental leave, child and elder care, employee assistance, wellness programs, or flexible benefits plans

Assist with proactively identifying benefits issues and implementing problem-solving strategies with clients, peers and appropriate staff

Research benefit plans and providers and makes recommendations

Remain current on all personnel policies, programs, and practices. Stay informed of new and pending laws and regulations.

Compiles periodic and special reports on benefits matters for senior HR management

May oversee the completion of projects including planning; assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results, etc

May lead and coordinate the activities of benefits team members

Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations

Perform other duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

Familiarity with general Human Resources processes and procedures

Demonstrated knowledge of HR Benefits related federal and state rules and regulations

Demonstrated knowledge of benefit plan strategy, and legal document preparation

EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree in Business or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:
7 or more years of related experience.

Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office Environment.

Some travel required
