The Enterprise Information Services (EIS) team at Cedars-Sinai understandsthat true clinical transformation and the optimization of a clinical information systems implementation is fueled through the alignment of the right people, processes and technologies.
Currently, we are recruiting for a BioMedical Tech to join the EIS (Enterprise Information Services) Department at Cedars-Sinai.
Job Duties include (but not limited):
Performs preventive maintenance and calibration of medical equipment. Troubleshoots both analog and digital electronic circuits to component level under minimum supervision; evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment at the request of clinical staff and department management; completes and records all required maintenance documentation; serves in on-call rotation as required by department manager.
1.Adjusts, calibrates, lubricates, performs operational verification, tests electronic safety, and other tasks to ensure optimal performance of complex instrument systems.
2.Performs periodic maintenance to ensure biomedical instrumentation systems are functioning properly, providing accurate information to clinicians, and is safe for use.
3.Demonstrates thoroughness and attention to details.
4.Demonstrates the ability to manage changing workload priorities with some supervision. Makes the best use of time available.
5.Sets and achieves educational and job proficiency goals.
6.Demonstrates an advanced level of electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
7.Learns and understands the operation and service routines for more complex and specialized medical device and laboratory systems.
8.Demonstrates the ability to understand and use basic biomedical test equipment.
9.Demonstrates a basic technical understanding of computers, clinical networks and the use of associated test equipment.
10.Understands the technology’s use model as part of the clinical workflow.
11.Communicates clearly with users in patient care areas during rounds or while investigating reported malfunctions.
12.Works with department management to identify and improve key skill areas necessary for career growth

Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities
Educational requirements and/or preferences (Licensure, Registration, Certification, Experience, Other):
•Associate of Science Degree in Electronic/Biomedical Electronics or related field; a combination of experience and education is acceptable. Prefer B.S. degree in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering.
•C.B.E.T. certification; or specialty biomedical skill such as Imaging or Anesthesia equipment.
•Two years experience as biomedical electronics technician and familiarity with a wide range of patient care and/or laboratory equipment.
•Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Possible exposure to ionizing radiation and chemicals, and chemical fumes. Protective clothing and safe work practices are required when appropriate.
•Considerable walking, and some moderate lifting, pushing, bending required. Good hand/eye coordination for delicate electronic repairs.
