The ideal candidate will have BS or MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, biochemistry, or chemical engineering or equivalent field with 3-5 years (BS degree) or 0-2 years (MS degree) of relevant experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on experience using analytical techniques for protein stability and characterization (eg’s, HPLC, CE, calorimetry/spectroscopy, flow imaging microscopy, and light scattering) is preferred
• Familiarity with protein formulation development and drug product manufacturing process development (eg, lyophilization) is a plus

Ability to work independently in a fast pace, innovative environment
This position is within the formulation development group of the Drug Product Sciences department. The candidate will be responsible for conducting development studies to support selection of formulation composition (liquid and lyophilized dosage forms), container closure, and characterization of degradation pathways for preclinical and clinical protein therapeutics. Responsibilities also include preparation of technical reports summarizing various aspects of protein formulation development and presentations of development data at department and cross-functional meetings. The candidate will be expected to keep up-to-date with current protein formulation development related scientific literature and evaluate new related technologies as appropriate.
The position is available in Rockville, MD, with relocation to PA in approximately 2 years.
