Director DPE US Consumer Evangelism, East Region

Do you have industry expertise in the fields of Media, Entertainment, Publishing and other lifestyle industries (i.e. travel, financial services etc.) The Developer & Platform Evangelism (DPE) group in Microsoft is looking for a new leader for the Managed Consumer team in the East Region.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Partner Evangelism and will be part of the East Region Leadership Team. The Managed Consumer team itself is comprised of Business Development Managers, Technical Evangelists and UX experts. These team members are highly passionate and driven to bring new app experiences around the top brands in the industry.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Setting the direction and engagement with the portfolio of brands in the East Region.
Developing high level relationships with top brands, understanding and communicating the needs of internal and external stakeholders
Working with creative agencies to deliver top notch app experiences with our consumer portfolio
Being visible evangelist on stage at times for the innovative work being showcased.
Leading a high performing team, including career development
Developing long-term strategies across all managed consumer touch points and establishing win-win criteria for success with internal stakeholders
Taking the lead and closing complex deal negotiations
Working collaboratively with peer leaders to drive the overall execution with top brands across the company
This position requires strong balance of business leadership, technical passion and people management. Candidates must have demonstrated leadership and management skills both directly and across groups. The role requires a good knowledge of application development technologies and familiarity with the developer audiences. The role also requires a good understanding of the digital media industry specifically with Media, Entertainment and Publishing experience. The ideal candidate should possess a strong customer and employee satisfaction focus, 10+ years of relevant experience, and 5+ years of management experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Marketing is required; and a Master’s Degree is desirable.
