Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position is being recruited for at the Advanced Competency Level under the Career Banding Program. The hiring range for this position is $43,035 - $53,002, and the salary grade equivalent is 67.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Contracts and Grants Manager will provide pre-award administrative management and post-award interface for all contracts and grants activity associated with research in the UNC Department of Emergency Medicine. The Contracts and Grants Manager will assist and facilitate the efforts of the faculty in preparing and submitting large, complex proposals. This position serves as the primary contact for a variety of granting agencies including federal, nonprofit foundations and private industry. This position is the primary liaison between the department and research faculty as well as main campus' Office of Sponsored Research and School of Medicine Contracts and Grants office. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, demonstrated ability to work independently, provide excellent service and work effectively in a team environment. The selected candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office (WORD, EXCEL) software and Adobe software applications; the selected candidate must be able to work under pressure to meet contracts and grants deadlines. Flexibility is a must, as well as strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidate will have prior experience managing contracts and grants in a University setting and also have experience with UNC Financial Systems, Infoporte, RAMSeS, as well as eRA Commons website.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to work with a computer for long periods of time while submitting/researching contracts and grants. Selected candidate must be able to get around campus/hospital if task requires and move 25 pounds when needed.
