We are looking for a Banking Data Operations Manager with strong planning, procedural, and process skills to join a number of Business Analysts and Market Data Specialists as part of our clients Data Management Services operations team in San Jose, California.

You will be someone who can look beyond the current role which is essentially supporting just one major client and turn the function into a business area that can apply best practices across multiple clients in a strategic fashion. So the ideal candidate has vision, creativity and re-engineering skills. This is a fantastic opportunity and challenge to grow into a much larger role with many more people as the business is expanding rapidly.

Client is a leading financial software solutions company with offices worldwide but this opportunity is San Jose California based. You will initially be looking after a team of around 14 people, team sits out of Mumbai and San Jose .

This is in a Real Time support environment, client has global trading operations hence 2 teams different time zones, ideally you will be industry knowledgeable so client and strong on processes and procedures to complement your creativity and re-engineering skill set.

Experience of managing a team in this fast paced environment dealing with Tier 1 customer,Reporting, making sure the team executes what it has said it will, very good at communicating the message, Ongoing development of team, measuring team performance, communicating to the clients, reports, matrixes. Dealing with Tier 1 banks documentation is very important for audit purposes, a disciplined individual required with a strong learning desire, monitoring the team performance and measuring the team performance key.

You need to mention how many people you have managed as In this Ops Mgr role, will be providing Real Time support to the clients global trading operations - VERY FAST PACED.

In this position you will be part of a global operations team that provides support, maintenance, and research for our clients. Experience of product management is a real plus ....
In terms of the person we are looking for:
Effective problem solver and excellent analytical skills.
Strong planning, procedural, and process skills .Experience working with equities, options, futures, derivatives, indexes, ETFs, and or Fixed Income data.
Knowledge of and familiarity with major market data vendor feeds, eg Bloomberg, Reuters, and IDC.
Knowledge or familiarity with SQL and UNIX is a bonus.
Experience and knowledge of pricing data, corporate actions, and reference data.
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral are required.
Ability to speak, and read a foreign language is a plus.
  • Understanding and familiarity of Middle and Back Office processing, specifically; Reconciliation, Trade Settlement, Corporate Actions, Treasury Cash Mgmt etc., within the Financial Services Industry
  • Analytical skills to analyze data, complete research, diagnose and solve technical problems
  • Ability to understand business processes and business problems and how data/data relationships can be used to solve business problems
  • Ability to understand and capture technical requirements
