GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS: The purpose of the class is to maintain the safety and enjoyment of the public pool area. The class is responsible for opening the pool, checking |
the water chemistry, and maintaining other aspects of the pool facility. The class works according to set procedures under direct supervision.
Opens the pool facility according to normal business hours.
Assists the public with requests such as checking in/out personal items for storage and loaning pool equipment.
Receives pool user fees and maintains small cash supply.
Ensures the safety of all those using the facility by monitoring and cleaning the pool area and performing other standard operations of a swimming pool.
Checks the water chemistry of the public pools.
Performs related tasks as necessary.

Requires comparing or inspecting items against a standard.
Requires following instructions and orders of supervisor.

Requires handling or using machines, tools, or equipment that requires little or no prior experience such janitorial, pool, or other similar equipment.
Requires performing routine work using common sense.
Requires performing basic addition and subtraction, such as making change or measuring.
Requires reading basic sentences, instructions, or work orders; writing simple sentences and completing uncomplicated job forms; speaking sentences using basic grammar.
Requires simple, repetitive, manual or operating tasks involving a few definite procedures; requires minor short term planning and little attention for accurate results.
