Post by Jobing - POSITION SUMMARYUnder general direction, performs duties in support of therapeutic services in a residential setting to an adult population composed of substance–abusing, dual–diagnosed and/or criminal justice–referred persons; and performs related duties as required. The Behavioral Health Associate may teach independent living skills as their primary responsibility.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESObserves, communicates with, assists, advises and provides support to clients.Assists in the self–administration of prescribed medications to clients; monitors and documents intake; administers blood sugar tests and basic first aid.Prepares incoming clients' packets for use and group session and medication notes; performs office tasks such as copying, faxing, logging mail and answering phones; receives and verifies logs, keys and cash.Provides transportation to clients to appointments, pharmacies, meetings, etc.Conducts and monitors clients' recreational activities.Performs automotive, building and grounds inspections and maintenance.Performs client counts hourly during the day and conducts hourly bed checks and grounds checks nightly.Provides group and individual living skills training.Assigns jobs to clients and monitors their performance.Supervises kitchen operations, prepares menus, teaches and assists clients in preparing, cooking and serving meals and monitors cleanup activities.Purchases, receives and stocks foodstuffs and supplies as required, monitors food refrigeration. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLSKnowledge of CPR and basic first aid.Knowledge of the principles of safety, health and sanitation.Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.Ability to communicate effectively with others, orally and in writing.Ability to work effectively with others.Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.Ability to work under pressure and handle issues which develop unexpectedly.Skill in the operation of a passenger van.Skill in the use of automotive, maintenance and garden tools and equipment. REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma/GED or Associates degree plus one year work experience in any industry; andCurrent and valid Arizona Driver License; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR); andMust type at least 25 wpm to progress to interview process.
