Positions responsible for providing vacation coverage for full-time staff. Duties will include a variety of RN medication management responsibilities including, but not limited to, assisting clients with filling weekly pill minders; administering oral and IM medication; assisting with prescription refills from pharmacies and pharmaceutical assistance programs; providing education on medications, monitoring side effects, and coordinating with MD/NP as needed. Services will be primarily office based, but may include some community or home visits. Works with a variety of clients including those with serious mental illness. Performs other duties as required.
Mental Health Nurse I salary range: $20.0511 to $ 27.4301 per hour.
Mental Health Nurse II salary range: $24.6818 to $33.7777 per hour
Salary normally starts on the first step. Classification placement is dependent upon education and experience. There are multiple, on-call positions available. There are no benefits available with on-call positions. Positions are available immediately. Hours can be flexible.

Mental Health Nurse I requires an Associate's degree in nursing with three (3) years of mental health related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Mental Health Nurse II requires a Bachelor's degree in nursing with two (2) years of mental health related experience.
Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred.
Both classifications require a thorough knowledge of nursing skills and principles related to assessing client needs; knowledge of nursing practices as they relate to the needs of a community mental health setting; and knowledge of mental health concepts.
Ability to understand mental health assessment, treatment and service terminology; to apply concepts, provide psychosocial skills development, and implement interventions prescribed on a treatment plan; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, agencies, and the public.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon an acceptable and verifiable driver's license and driving history.
Possession of a State of Oregon Registered Nurse License.
Must have own transportation and be willing and able to travel throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Final candidate will be required to provide official college degree and certified transcripts prior to hire date.
Computer literacy with strong typing and computer skills required.
Final candidate selected for position will be required to pass a drug screening and a thorough employment and criminal history investigation.
