This entry-level position works as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing case-management skills training to adult clients with serious mental illness. Position will work primarily with individuals placed in a transitional housing program, but may also work with others based on program need. Position will work closely with several teams including Community Support Services and Assertive Community Treatment. Services will be provided in a variety of settings including the community and at the client's residence, with a goal of successful community placement. Individuals served will have a variety of complex issues including behavioral health, developmental disabilities and medical issues. Performs other duties as required.
Work hours will initially include one evening per week (noon to 9:00 p.m.), to assist with medication deliveries. This position is currently part of the Community Support Services Team; however, based on program needs, may be re-assigned to Assertive Community Treatment at a future date.
$3,416.26 to $4,675.92 per month for a 172.67 hour work month. Salary normally starts at the first step. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This is a union represented position. Position is available immediately.
This position may be required to work in Bend, Redmond and or La Pine. Specific assignments, work schedules, and work locations may change over time.
Bachelor's degree in a human services field with one year of responsible and relevant professional experience. Education, training and or experience in mental health treatment required. Must be able to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Assistant (QMHA) at time of hire. Substance abuse training, experience and or certification preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is desirable.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all times.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date. The employment offer will be contingent upon an acceptable and verifiable driver's license and driving history.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule when necessary, to meet client and program needs, including at least one evening per week to start.
Must have own, dependable transportation, and be willing and able to travel throughout Deschutes County in sometimes adverse weather conditions.
Final candidate will be required to provide official proof of college degree and certified transcripts prior to hire date.
Computer literacy with strong typing skills required.
Final candidate selected for position will be required to pass a drug screening and thorough employment and criminal history investigation.
