The Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) /Mobile Therapist (MT) provides intensive therapeutic services to a child/adolescent and family in the home, community or school setting. The therapist provides child centered, family focused therapy using a variety of treatment modalities as described in the child’s treatment plan. All services provided are in adherence to Child and Adolescent Service System Program Principles (CASSP). The BSC is responsible for developing the treatment plan and the functional behavioral assessment. The BSC will coordinate all aspects of care with the TSS and or the MT. The BSC/MT will make referrals for all services as needed to all clients. Networking and collaboration with social service agencies, schools, Fayette County MHMR, hospitals, medical doctors and all other organizations will occur as per individual client needs. Documentation of FBA’s, treatment plans, and progress notes will become part of the client’s chart.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses the strengths and therapeutic needs of assigned children and their families
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments, collect data, measure outcomes
  • Develop individualized, goal-oriented, measurable treatment plans
  • Supervise and train clinical staff assigned to each case
  • Determines clinical need for special evaluations and service, such as medication assessment by a psychiatrist, psychological testing or other in conjunction with child and family and other involved professionals
  • Develops treatment plan, services and outcome-based short term goals for identified child/adolescent
  • Collaborates with child and family and other involved professionals to develop daily routines during times of crisis and transition and a 24 hour crisis plan
  • Collaborates with other involved professionals and agencies in order to provide unified services and continuity of care to child and family
  • Develops discharge planning criteria
  • Provides clinical services to child/adolescent and family
  • Acts as team leader if therapeutic staff support services are also provided to include clinical supervision for child/specific clinical issues
  • Provides written documentation and clinical records of therapeutic process and progress
  • Submits applicable billing related documentation to facilitate payment of services

Special Requirements:

  • Must have a Master’s Degree Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling and Licensing is preferred

. * Must be able to work flexible hours to meet individual’s and program’s needs

  • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend trainings, meetings, and therapy sessions
  • Must have the ability to obtain clearances as defined by regulations
