Job Summary:

Work closely with the Executive Retirement and Ancillary Plan Analyst and other Employee Benefit Program positions to maintain Employee Benefit Program (Heath & Group and Retirement plans) compliance with all ERISA, IRS, DOL and other regulatory agencies requirements.

General Responsibilities:
  • Review of benefit program plan documents, trust agreements, Summary Plan Descriptions and other employee information in order to ensure compliance with all ERISA, IRS, DOL and other regulatory agency requirements
  • Respond to requests for plan documents and other required disclosure materials from appropriate internal and external sources to comply with legally required benefit plan disclosures
  • Coordinate proposed amendments or restatements to the plan documents and trust agreements to ensure timely execution of all approved and required benefit program changes
  • Coordinate Benefit Committee resolutions related to plan changes to ensure timely and compliant changes to the benefit programs
  • Provide technical support for annual Summary of Material Modifications for plans to ensure compliance with IRS notification requirements
  • Coordinate the filing of Form 5500s and all related documents for all benefit programs to ensure compliance with IRS and DOL reporting requirements
  • Monitor pending legislation as it relates to the employee benefit programs and provide timely information to the benefit strategy team to ensure compliance with all required benefit program changes and / or administrative processes
  • Provide support for on-going lawsuits, subpoenas, etc. that relate to the employee benefit programs to the HCA Legal Department
  • Monitor and update appeal and subrogation processes including internal coordination with workers’ compensation and facility liability cases to ensure compliance with all IRS, DOL and other regulatory agency requirements
  • Coordinate the Sarbanes Oxley documentation for the Employee Benefit Programs to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is supplied to the HCA Internal Audit department in a timely manner
  • Coordinate other compliance functions as needed
  • Review HMO and PPO contract compliance for certain key points (eligibility, termination, COBRA, HIPAA, change in status rules, leaves of absence, etc.) and coordinate collection of standard benefit contracts for accuracy, compliance with Company guidelines and appropriate legal entity identification
  • Manage centralized HMO contract files and maintain all other vendor contract files after contract approval
  • One to three years human resources or benefits experience
  • Compliance or legal experience a plus
  • College Graduate Required (Undergrad)
