Kerry Ingredients and Flavour’s has an opening for a Beverage Scientist/Senior Scientist (depending on experience) within the Nutritional Beverages Application team based at The Kerry Center Beloit Wisconsin.
This person will apply Kerry technologies, flavors and ingredients in the formulation of added value, cost effective and nutritionally relevant beverages. Knowledge of flavors, food ingredients, processing, packaging, nutrition, stability testing amongst other skills are important to the success of this role.
Experience in dairy science/technology and the formulation of nutritional beverages is a distinct advantage. The successful candidate needs to have a practical approach to handling projects while respecting scientific principles. The ability to communicate and interact with a wide range of people and disciplines throughout North America and beyond is crucial for success. Summary of essential duties and responsibilities (Others may be assigned) Computer literate, documents all research in lab notebooks and computer database. No supervisory responsibilities. Ability to communicate with sales and vendors. Capable of communicating effectively with customers and able to represent Kerry at trade shows, technology meetings and other relevant situations. Applies scientific and engineering principles in application, research, development, production technology, quality control, packaging, processing, and utilization of beverages by performing the following duties. Formulates nutritional beverage applications using Kerry ingredients and flavors. Develops new and improved methods and systems for beverage processing, production, quality control, packaging, and distribution. Studies methods to improve the flavor, color, texture, nutritional value, convenience, or physical, chemical, and microbiological composition of nutritional beverages. Develops beverage standards, safety and sanitary regulations, and waste management and water supply specifications. Tests new products in application lab and develops specific processing methods in laboratory pilot plant. Confers with process engineers, flavor experts, and packaging and marketing specialists to resolve problems. Qualifications/Experience.
