Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop and complete service plans, assessments, case conference reports, progress notes
  • Documentation must be completed and maintained at all times in accordance with contractual standards and must be done in a timely manner.
  • Conduct home visits with youth and foster parents as needed, at least once a month
  • Complete foster care reviews with agencies.
  • Comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Informal counseling, mediation with youth and foster families in conflict situations
  • Provide on-call coverage to ensure that crisis situations are resolved in a safe, consistent, and fair manner.
  • Manage crisis situations in a manner which minimizes disruption and assures safety.
  • Assure mental health psychological needs are met; assisting in referrals as needed
  • Participate in hospital admissions and discharge planning as determined by client need
  • Oversee interagency coordination to assure that service goals are achieved
  • Assure educational needs of minor are met, including advocacy for special educational services
  • Develop independent life skills plans including vocational training and college preparation
  • Coordinate dental, medical and community support for minor
  • Assist in immigration procedures, assuring immigration attorney representation as needed
  • Coordinate legal activity, e.g. master calendar hearings, attorney appointments
  • Provide on-call coverage and crisis intervention
  • Provide supervision of interns and/or orientation of new staff as assigned
  • Assure that all client records are complete within the month of date due
  • Assure compliance with changes completed as required
  • Complete all client change forms promptly
  • Assists with all required client statistics, quality assurance reviews
  • Assist in immigration procedures, assuring immigration attorney representation as needed
  • Assists with all required client statistics, quality assurance reviews, in-home studies, and re-evaluations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree Social Work or in Human services preferrred. Bachelor’s degree in social work or human services with specialized training and/ or experience in work in child welfare or with the refugee population will be considered. A demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of clients is essential.
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • An understanding and acceptance of the refugee and undocumented population
  • Abilty to work as part of a multi-cultural team
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to manage crisis situations in repsonse to on-call repsonsibilites
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development, including effects of loss and truma
  • Computer skills, including word, and email competence; ability to use Family Net/ Virtual Gateway for DCF compliance; TMS/for DUCS;IRIS for URMP/LIRS
  • Valid Driver’s License with positive driving record and ability to use own car to travel to home visits and to transport minors
  • Must be licensed by the state of MA with a LICSW or LCSW
