Job Description:
Bilingual Spanish/ Chinese Medicaid Clerical Associate
$13/Hourly-Full Time

Nassau County/ Garden City office

Summary:
The Medicaid Clerical Associate is part of the Medicaid team at Miller & Milone, P.C., that works together to complete the Medicaid application process for patients of our hospital clients. The Medicaid Clerical Associate assists in collecting documentation for the purpose of evaluating spanish/chinese speaking patients’ eligibility and/or completing application requirements. Key functions include retrieving and disseminating information to Field Workers, Coordinators, and Department Director. Medicaid Clerical Associates must conduct themselves at all times in accordance with HIPAA and Medicaid guidelines.

Responsibilities Include:
Entering and scanning new account information into the Firm’s database

Creating folders for new accounts

Sending various letters to patients

Verifying patient wages

Retrieving information from hospital databases

Requesting patient medical information to determine reason for hospital admission

Researching to ensure information requested is received from the correct facility

Documenting all actions taken to communicate with patients, updating patient accounts, and tracking the status of applications

Following up on requests to ensure information is received prior to deadlines

Preparing reports on open accounts for review by management

Position Requirements:
Must be able to effectively communicate with patients/applicants using Spanish /Chinese

Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Ability to use internet databases

Investigatory and researching skills

Excellent written and verbal skills

2 years’ administrative experience

Ability to handle multiple tasks

Must possess a high level of organization skills

Experience with EPACEs and LEXIS-NEXIS a plus

Adherence to Medicaid/HIPAA guidelines

Experience in the fields of healthcare or insurance is a plus

Schedule:
This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
