Job Description:
Position overview: Answer phones to respond to general
customer inquiries, invoice questions, and customer
complaints. Projects a professional company image
through each phone interaction.
JOB / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (Listed in order of
importance)
  • Answer phone and respond to customer requests
regarding insurance inquires and patient balances
  • Provide customers with product and service
information
  • Transfers Customer calls to appropriate staff as
necessary
  • Identify, research and resolve customer billing
issues
  • Follow-up on customer inquires not immediately
resolved and provide follow-up communication to
customer once resolved
  • Prepares memos/form/correspondence
  • Make outgoing calls to customers regarding
outstanding balances
  • Recognize, document and alert the supervisor of
trends in customer calls, recommends process
improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements
Knowledge / Education
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year basic technical training in medical
terminology and ICD-9 coding
Job Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year in a call center or business office
preferred
Skills / Competencies
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Extremely attentive to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
