VRI is currently seeking a Medical Billing Specialist.

VRI is seeking applicants with medical billing and claims management experience. The position will be responsible for billing, tracking and reconciling health related claims with third party payers such as insurance plans, managed care organizations and state plans. This requires information gathering, coding, data entry, tracking, record keeping, problem solving and organizational skills

The position reports to the Controller, and will have daily interaction with clients, case managers, provider relations representatives and other employees at VRI. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and strong data entry and phone skills.

Responsibilities:
- Review patient accounts for accuracy, make adjustments as needed and submit monthly billings
- Post payments received and reconcile system postings to monthly billing and claims statements
- Review all EOB forms and rejections for errors and resubmit corrected claims in a timely manner. This includes reconciliation of all outstanding A/R.
- Perform all routine and special follow-up on all assigned accounts using telephone and email correspondence
- Perform standard customer service duties such as answering phones, following up with clients, entering information changes and making people happy.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years medical billing experience.
- Proficient in ICD-9 coding, and submission of health related claims in multiple formats (online, paper, EDI, etc.)
- Familiar with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines for coding and billing
- Proficient with computers and Windows based software programs
- Excellent customer service and phone skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required

Education Requirements (All)
- High School Diploma or GED
- AA or BS in Relevant Field
- 3-5 years of Billing Experience
