The Biomed Technician will conduct periodic inspections of the department verifying equipment performance, documentation, proper cleaning practices, safe and appropriate compressed gas and cryogenic oxygen cylinder filling, and timeliness, and any other projects as assigned by management or identified within position duties. The Biomed Technician is responsible for tracking, scheduling and conducting routine and preventive maintenance of all equipment, warehousing repair parts, equipment returns, and the purchasing of repair parts. The Biomed Technician will also serve as an assistant manager for the Biomed Manager and accepts assignments from the Warehouse Manager and Materials Management Director in the absence of the Biomed Manager.
The Biomed Tech must have a high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of hands on mechanical knowledge of home health medical equipment testing and repair. Certificates from manufacturers authorizing individual to complete "factory repair work" are preferred. Computer knowledge, JCAHO knowledge, and strong mechanical ability are required. Must possess a valid class "C" commercial drivers license with a hazardous materials endorsement and good driving record.
