We are seeking a Bioprocess Applications Specialist for our Hauppauge, NY location.
The Bioprocess Applications Specialist will act as the key person for technical support of Bioprocess-related products for Eppendorf North America. He/she will interact closely with the Sales, Marketing, Service and R&D divisions to achieve the best results from our products and safeguard a high level of customer satisfaction. Strong self-learning and analytical skills are essential for success in this role. Good inter-personal skills with the can-do attitude are highly desired. Must be able to travel freely within the US and Canada.
Act as the technical lead at Eppendorf North America for Bioprocess-related topics including hardware (instrument, accessories and consumables), theory & principles, applications, process development, troubleshooting, and more.
Up to 75% travel throughout the continental US and Canada to provide before and after purchase fulfillment services, including but not limited to product demo, installation, training, method development, applications support and troubleshooting.
Provide coaching and training when needed on best practices and compliance to SOPs on Eppendorf Bioreactor and Fermentation products.
Coordinate with marketing and service on the generation and production of collateral materials, i.e. application notes, training courses, manuals, white sheets, user guides and other technical literature.
Help in conducting and analyzing market research and dynamics, customer needs, application usage and trends, product requirements and competition to ensure the achievement of business goals.
Work cooperatively with Eppendorf Services on technical troubleshooting, programming support and resolution of system service issues.
B.S. in either Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering or related area of study. At least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience with Bioreactors, minimum of 1 year of work experience in GLP/GMP-regulated environment, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry. Candidates with M.S. in the above fields are preferred.
Hands-on experience with tissue culture and down-stream applications. Experience with large-scale cell culture in a laboratory or industrial setting a plus.
A knowledge in fermentation process scale-up and technology transfer to contract research/manufacturing organizations is highly desired.
Able to eloquently present products, data, papers and abstracts to peers and colleagues in a public speaking forum.
Must possess good problem-solving, interpersonal communication and team skills.
Independent, self-motivated with a strong focus on quality, details and results.
Basic computer literacy is required. Demonstrated proficiency in common computer tools such as MS Office and web based applications.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds as required.
