The Bistro Server provides exceptional dining service to guests in a timely, courteous, efficient, and accurate manner. He or she receives guests, takes guest orders, and processes those orders with a sincerely pleasant and professional demeanor. In addition, the Bistro Server is skilled in serving etiquette, menu and specials presentations, and accurate and prompt guest check preparation.
The ideal candidate for this position a high school diploma or GED and previous experience is preferred. He or she has the physical stamina to perform all the requirements of this position and can work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position
The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Completes opening and closing duties as required, including setup and cleanup of all areas
-- Maintains cleanliness of work areas and follows all safety and sanitary guidelines
-- Takes orders and serves meals and beverages promptly and courteously
-- Communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, or special requests to the kitchen
-- Prepares food, coffee, and other beverages, including alcohol
-- Prepares ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
-- Prepares and cooks food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
-- Processes all orders and collects payment from customers
-- Provides assistance with busing, cleaning and resetting tables, delivering food to guests, and cleaning food and beverage prep areas
-- Completes cashier reports and closes out at the end of shift, dropping off receipts and deposits as required
