Blood Bank Supervisor

In this position you will provide laboratory services in accordance with accepted standards and practices to meet patient needs; direct, supervise and coordinate functions and activities in the Blood Bank Department. Responsible for the performance of serologic testing, including specialized procedures such as antibody identification, cold agglutinin studies, absorption and elution. Prepare and issue blood components and perform related duties.

Requirements include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school, Clinical Laboratory Technologist license under the NYS Department of Education and 3-5 years previous clinical laboratory experience as a Blood Bank Technologist. 5 years proven managerial experience and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are essential. Certification by internship and examination from the A.S.C.P. as a registered Medical Technologist desired. Knowledge of AABB, NYSDOH, and JC accreditation standards essential. Master's Degree preferred. Computer experience desired.
