JOB OBJECTIVE: To ensure that plant facilities are kept in good repair and working order as well as in constant production mode at all times.
Essential Job Functions:
To ensure that all process, utility and packaging equipment is kept in peak operating condition as to minimize any down time related to equipment failures--25%
Perform level I maintenance and restricted level II preventative maintenance including adjustments, set-up, and lubrication that does not require disassembly of the equipment or components beyond removing guards or shields and access covers to change v belts, drive chains and sprockets and out board mounted bearings--20%
To be familiar with the function, operation and maintenance of all utility, process and packaging equipment according to manufacturers publications--10%
Assist in the development of maintenance database (mp2) for equipment trending, work orders, equipment control numbers, and maintenance data collection--10%
Work with mechanics II and mechanics III to learn as much as possible about unfamiliar equipment (taking out of equipment manuals and reading is required)--10%
Ensure that all existing and new plant equipment has been tagged with assigned equipment control numbers and lubrication record--10%
Assist PM coordinator in collecting data from equipment manuals to develop, maintain and update the preventive maintenance database (mp2)--10%
Perform other duties as assigned by management--5%
Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
Must be at workstation at the start of the shift.
Must continuously follow all safety procedure on the job.
For safety and business purposes, must have communication skills including reading, writing, and must be able to communicate to others as well as be able to receive communication from others.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to read and write and be able to follow detailed instructions.
Must have general industrial equipment maintenance background.
