Manages all functions and has ultimate responsibility for achievement of sales and service goals, operational activities and staff development. Develops, manages and uses various sales techniques to achieve aggressive individual and team branch sales goals. Works in cooperation and coordination with branch staff to achieve deposit, loan, and investment fee income growth. Determines trends in a given marketplace. Ensure exceptional member service to all external and internal members to foster and capture the credit union culture. Make sure branch adheres to operational policies, compliance requirements and security measures. Operate branch within budget. Assist in the development and training of staff, including performance reviews, giving constructive feedback, and administering correction action processes. The Branch Manager has a high level of visibility in their community by attending functions as well as serving in community organizations. Responsible for developing new retail and commercial member relationships, expanding, and maintaining existing relationships utilizing professional sales techniques to prospect, identify, and meet member needs. Has a good understanding of small businesses and has the ability to promote our Business Banking products. Oversee loan production for retail and small businesses, including loan interviews, approving/underwriting/disbursement of loans. Communicates and supports the mission of the company.

Provide leadership, coach, train; manage performance of staff to insure branch achieves sales and service goals. Create a strong sales and service culture, fostering an environment in which all branch employees work together to achieve all scorecard goals. Responsible for the consistent execution of sales activities and strategies. Oversees and evaluates credit requests. Lead and support the ongoing marketing strategies, plans, contests, promotions, and focuses in branch. Cultivate partnerships with key support groups (Commercial Business, Mortgage, Payroll, BFS, etc) to drive sales and ensure that all member needs are met. Drive efforts in the branch to identify and implement service behaviors that improve the overall customer experience. Model external and internal member service standards and ensure full adherence by all teammates. Resolve escalated member complaints/issues promptly and effectively. Represents the credit union in the community to further enhance its image and to develop and promote additional business. Promotes Credit Union through community involvement via memberships in local organizations (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, etc.), participation in town events, and engage in local business networks. Establish and maintain key relationships and business contacts within the community and targeted industry segments to create opportunities for growth. Develop and implement business plan to exceed sales and expand member relationships. Conducts sales calls to prospective small business members. Maintains active calling plan for Book of Business members and prospects business calling plan of outside calls.

Responsible for ensuring the Branch team is trained on products, sales, and service models. Manage hiring, performance management, compensation, administration, communication and employee evaluations. Oversee administration of all personnel issues. Provide, support, feedback and coaching to branch staff daily through morning huddles, and end of day meetings. Identify and develop high performing employees in order to build career progression and bench strength. Develop and manage a learning and development plan for all employees. Coach, train and develop team by formal observation and coaching session around sales, service and operations toward stated goals. Has a complete understanding of all products sold in the branch office and has familiarity with products sold by other business lines. Maintains knowledge of credit standards and loan processing procedures for retail and small business loans. Suggests changes in products, policies, and procedures that would enhance member satisfaction, revenue, security, or operational efficiency.
Responsible for audit, compliance and security issues within branch office, ensuring compliance at all times. Identify and minimize the credit union’s exposure to losses due to fraud; ensure branch compliance with all Bank Policies and Procedures. Reviews branch operational areas as needed. Manage key branch reports. Responsible for daily operations of branch office. Ensures procedures are followed or makes authorized exceptions to procedure/policy to maintain optimal branch performance in service quality, accuracy, transactions, or decisions requiring a higher level of authority for approval or signature within the branch. Delegate duties to Assistant Manager as appropriate. Follows established audit, security and compliance guidelines to protect the staff, company assets, and clients from harm or loss. Maintains familiarity with procedures and policies that are subject to audit to ensure audit scores are at acceptable levels.
Manage controllable components of expenses for the Branch. Responsible for preparing budget and performing other functions as required by the Vice President of Branch Administration and Business Services.

3+ years of financial or equivalent retail sales experience
3-5 years supervisory experience credit or lending background
business banking background with formal credit training
