The purpose of this job is to assist in the preparation, execution and monitoring of the annual operating and capital budgets. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparation of the annual operating budget, preparation of the annual capital budget and five year capital improvement plan, reviewing and authorizing budget transfers and amendments, instructing departments in budget preparation, financial and budgetary analysis on various budgetary and fiscal issues, working with departments to develop and update descriptions of services and programs and allocating costs to those various services and programs, and performing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualified applicants must possess:
1. Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or accounting;

2. Three years of accounting, cost accounting, budgetary or related experience required;

3. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.

This merit system position requires that the employee satisfactorily complete a probationary period.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (May have to work religious holidays).
