A major publishing giant located in NYC is looking for a full-time ECommerce Business Analyst / Project Manager to join a team that supports their website. This is an opportunity to join a team that is using cutting edge technologies and to help them grow.

You will work as the liaison between the IT team and the business area.
The role is to build, demonstrate, and maintain a detailed knowledge of the business functions, processes and controls in place.
You will maintain a familiarity with current business issues, objectives, and strategies and recognize issues/opportunities to optimally apply technology to enhance existing or build new business capabilities.
You will work closely with business users and IT team leads to identify, prioritize, and complete systems projects and help to apply the SDLC to identify opportunities to tailor the process specific project needs and obtain approval with IT management/service providers.
Coordinating and facilitating requirements gathering sessions, developing appropriate requirements and functional design documentation, use cases as well as assisting in the testing of the functionality of newly developed IT applications.
5 - 7 years of with systems development methodologies, definitioncuttuibg, systems design and systems testing
Demonstrated experience with eCommerce IT projects serving as Business Analyst or related role with a thorough understanding of how back-end and web-based systems interface with each other.
Experience with Project Management in a structured environment with a demonstrated appreciation for disciplined project management.
You have experience project managing onshore / near shore / off shore team members
Worked in environments/have knowledge of WebSphere, Java, .Net and Oracle Endeca SEO (search engine optimatization) or similar and also Relational Databases/SQL.
You are knowlegable/understand Open Source environments such as Magento, Drupal, Ruby, - you are not expected to be a coder.
Ability to gather requirements, document and write functional specifications
Experience working with workflow process for online transactions, commerce flow, subscriptions, promotions and shopping carts.
Experience with Mercury Quality Center (or similar defect tracking tool).
Familiar with online shopping and checkout processes
Experience and knowledge of online retail in the publishing industry a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, and PowerPoint) and system documentation tools.
