We are looking for a Business Analyst on behalf of our client, Fidelity Investments. This position is based in Merrimack, NH.


The Enterprise HR Platform Management group in partnership with IT is responsible for design, development and delivery of enabling technology solutions in support of mission critical HR processes and services. The group is responsible for managing the HR technology product portfolio and providing a holistic investment management approach, aligning product with business goals and delivering multi-year roadmaps. It is also responsible for managing overall end to end implementation of business and cycle-driven system changes to HR applications including managing backlog and prioritization, release plan, budget tracking, product utilization and critical production issues or incidents.

Under minimal supervision, the Business Analysis Consultant analyzes business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address operations/process issues/improvements to accomplish business objectives. The Business Analysis Consultant has a thorough understanding of the HR systems business capabilities and is responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and implementing improvements to the systems. The Business Analysis Consultant plays a key role in interfacing with technical partners, business and project stakeholder audiences.

The Business Analysis Consultant will support the HR Enterprise initiative called Service Delivery Model (SDL) with includes the implementation of as the Case and Knowledge Management solution to support the work of the HR Shared Service Center at Fidelity.

Role Summary

Serves as business knowledge lead and key advisor of the requirements process on complex projects within the business unit.

Provides support for the development of technical solutions that meet business needs.

Participates or leads business analysis for project (medium/large scale projects)

Support Project Managers/Director on large scale projects

Strong knowledge of Project Management and Portfolio Management Methodology

Facilitate User Acceptance Test phase (create test plan/scripts, manage defect list, conduct data validation tests of business rule logic, sign offs)

Strong Communication skills

Contributes to multi-project or single, large project analysis and issue closure

Strong understanding of the Project Life Cycle, FSDM, and PPM

Ability to coach/mentor Jr. level team members by providing expertise and tools to meet development goals of Jr. Associate.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of collaboration with Risk/compliance/Legal

Business knowledge lead and key advisor on complex items/projects

Key Job Responsibilities

Responsible for all Business Analysis phases and may oversee all remaining phases of a project. Provides leadership through the expert understanding of the project life cycle and business needs.

Monitors and resolves or escalates project interdependencies, both internal and external to the business unit; provides insight and input on project plan management and monitors progress against plan.

May establish, manage, and own the end-to-end project plan for small development projects including; Project Planning/Tracking; Status Reporting; Issue Management/Escalation/Resolution; Change Control; Quality Control; Risk Management; Financial Management; and Resource Management

Participates in and/or is responsible for the creation of applicable Project Life Cycle deliverables including: Project Charter, Business Requirements Document, User Acceptance Testing

Participates in the review of: Systems Prospectus, Systems Delivery Specs, User Procedure Documents, Training Documents

Establishes and implements project plans for Business Analysis activities across multiple large and moderately complex projects.

Works closely with project manager to determine project task estimates, deadlines, and deliverables, simultaneously working on several projects.

May manage a small-to-medium-sized group of professionals directly or matrix managed through other business units while leading projects; provides supervision to business analysts in their analysis tasks by providing input as well as structuring deliverables

Utilizes strong problem solving skills to identify issues with respect to their functional area or impacted project areas. Based on their expertise of the issue(s), the Business Analysis Consultant defines and recommends potential solutions to the appropriate stakeholders (e.g. subject matter experts and project management) and assists in the implementation of an approved course of action to resolve issues



Education and Experience

Experience in translating business requirements to technical partners in supporting the project - strong documentation skills

Strong utilization of project life cycle methodology; active participant in one or more full life cycle projects

7-10 years work experience

Bachelor's degree preferred


Functional knowledge of HR Case and Knowledge Management applications preferred, would be a plus

Functional knowledge of Call Center and telephony processes and technology preferred

Functional knowledge of HR systems and technology alternatives preferred

Collaboration, negotiating and influencing skills

Demonstrated strength in requirements analysis and use case development; experience with large-scale systems development

Ability to analyze business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address operation/process issues/improvements to accomplish business objectives

Strong knowledge of the project and portfolio management methodology

Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies is preferred

Knowledge of MS Office

Strong presentation and facilitation skills
