Chevron Services Company is accepting online applications for the position of Business Analyst located in San Ramon, CA through February 25, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

The Business Analyst position reports to the Manager - Analytical Support in Corp Procurement. This position conducts various financial analyses, internal and external market research studies, as well as data and process analysis in support of the Catalyst, Chemical & Industrial Gas Category. Assignments may also include supporting Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and other Procurement activities in Corporate, domestic upstream, midstream or downstream business units. Frequent interaction with senior management can be expected. Strong analytical skills and problem solving capabilities, customer focus, teamwork and a high-level of initiative are critical. Excellent communication skills are important.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Conducts business and financial analysis including supplier, spend, market, decision and budget analyses.

Analyzes supplier activities, market share changes and swings in business and prepare projections on how these may influence future supplier proposals or negotiations.

Develop first cost and total cost models and other related assessments.

Provides commodity/service expertise and support to Category Managers and Business Units for sourcing tenders, negotiations and contracts.

Develops or assists in the development of category plan documents, annual budget forecasts, business cases, decision review board packages and other presentations with emphasis on clear presentation and interpretation of data gathered.

Supports Procurement/Supply Chain Mgmt teams through benchmarking, cost management, alternative sourcing and supply chain management studies.

May also plan stakeholder engagement sessions and organize/conduct other meetings and events involving Chevron and supplier representatives.

Manages multiple global catalyst and chemicals contracts with total annual spend of $20-$25 million/year.

Business travel (up to 5%) may be required.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management or Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Chemical Engineering

MBA in Supply Chain Management or General Management

Relocation Options:
Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
