Examine, assess, and document business operations and procedures of operating or administrative unit. Relate these procedures to IT/IS systems and applications that are designed to enable the operating unit to accomplish its objectives. Assist operating unit staff by developing reports, downloads, and analyses from discipline-specific systems and applications. Provide input to IT/IS specialists in development projects to assist in developing specifications and functionalities in IT systems.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
Assess business operations and processes of assigned office or business unit to identify inefficiencies in procedures, information flows and handoffs, decisions, communications pathways and ways in which systems supporting these can be enhanced.
Participate in meetings and projects with client staff, project managers, and developers to automate, upgrade, or expand applications that accomplish business operations of assigned work unit(s).
Create, design, and format technical specifications including descriptive text, process flows, and other information needed to describe required system changes for development, QA, and other units; serve on project team accomplishing these functions.
Provide support to applications in production by tracking production problems and troubleshooting them to sustain application in production.
Develop queries, analyses, or reports from applications for operations or management staff of assigned business unit(s), or develop specifications for such queries or analyses to be performed by others.
Serve as team, project, or technical lead in project involving definition of business processes or development of technical/business specifications for new or modified business management or operational software.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
Master or Other Advanced Degree Preferred.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Very strong SAS and SQL skills and good VBA skills. Ability to stage data from disparate data sources and comfortable working with large data populations.
Extensive reporting and data analysis experience, including proficiency in business intelligence tools such as BO, Spotfire, Tableau or similar. Be familiar with the concepts of data modeling.
Analytical business background and demonstrated intellectual curiosity and the ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and deliver sound analysis, solutions and business intelligence.
Ability to collaborate, influence and solve difficult problems, combining the ability to prioritize and function well in a dynamic environment
Ability to review code or EUCs from other teams and reconcile differences in approach, data, logic and quality.
Be able to perform thorough testing on reports and SAS datasets.
Experience developing queries, analyses, or reports from applications for operations or management staff of assigned business unit(s), developing specifications for complex queries or analyses to be performed by others.
Experience providing aggregate management information in support of business disclosures.
Background as a technical lead providing technical guidance to teams.
Ability to identify opportunities for automation for the team’s recurrent reporting and implement automated end-to-end reporting solutions across various technology platforms.
Attention to detail with intentional focus on quality and data validation.
Good oral/written communication and proven ability to liaise with business users, developers, stakeholder analysts and management.
Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and be effective and decisive under pressure.
Mortgage market knowledge with an emphasis in the credit domain preferred
