The

Oversight and Control Group's

primary function is to solidify an effective Firmwide control framework, looking within and across the lines of business, to identify and remediate control issues with a sense of urgency regardless of the source. The Team will partner with all other control disciplines, adding an additional line of defense supporting Compliance, Risk and Audit, among others. The Team will work in partnership on the development of new, and oversight of existing, control functions and protocols throughout the Firm and will provide a centralized view of and from all control functions, assisting in immediate, real time problem detection and escalation. This process will enable the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner, and provide the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the firm. While ultimate responsibility for the effectiveness of the control environment rests with the LOB CEO's and the Corporate Function Heads, the Oversight & Control Team will partner closely with the Audit and Risk Committees, the Operating Committee, and the Board of Directors of JP Morgan Chase, and all Lines of Business, Legal, Compliance and Technology as well as other groups within the Firm.

The Oversight & Control Group will collect data and report on the coordinated Firmwide examination calendar; review and report centrally on the status and scheduling of all regulatory examinations, and interact on a regular basis with all internal and external compliance teams, including weekly meetings with the appropriate authorities.

The Oversight & Control Group will assist all other control disciplines to review and prioritize the compliance and regulatory risks across the all Lines of Business within JP Morgan Chase, and will work to review, develop and/or enhance appropriate risk control measures to evaluate and mitigate such risks. The Oversight & Control Group will partner closely with, and provide recommended standards to, the BCC teams throughout the firm.

The Oversight & Control Group will work to assist in the coordination and review of internal and external audit results. The team will ensure all internal controls and applications fall within compliance guidelines for both the company and industry regulatory standards. As output from the new Control Room environment, the Oversight & Control Group will create periodic reports documenting industry trends or other relevant data, and perform global operational assessments for senior executive management.

Oversight & Control Group will have team members globally across the US, EMEA and Latin America, and as such, will bring a global perspective and globally coordinated approach to compliance oversight.

This specific position will support the Operational Control group including: Global Security and Investigations, Cyber Security and Global Resiliency and Crisis Management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Understand GS&I, Cyber Security and Business Resiliency Control Group, JPMC Global Resiliency and Crisis Management program requirements, procedures and processes so as to identify specific risks and design/implement mitigating controls.

Partner with business teams globally to provide oversight of the firm wide and LOB programs to ensure compliance with external regulation and corporate policies and standards.

Understand regulatory and internal examination trends so as to proactively address emerging program weaknesses or deficiencies; partner with other control team members to prepare for and execute regulatory examinations and or internal audits.

Evaluate existing business strategies and plans, identifying existing process and procedural gaps and recommending controls to mitigate risk.

Partner with global and regional business teams to ensure corporate programs are holistic, appropriate for LOBs and are compliant to policy/standards.

Design and track key metrics that provide a snapshot of the health of the overall business control environment; interact with key leaders and managers to address issues that surface from this reporting.

Along with other members of the controls & business teams, interface with regulatory bodies on the Operational Control agenda.

Qualifications

8-10 years experience in the Oversight and Control framework or a risk/audit/business background with demonstrated career progression

Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities, direct or indirect

Strong coordination, control and project management skills.

Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Presence and ability to engage with senior management.

Flexibility and ability to partner with other team members across global time zones.

Proven record of driving process improvements.

BA/BS in related field, Advanced Degree preferred
