    Job Summary

    The Business Development Director for EducationPlus will be responsible for prospecting, securing meetings, presenting and closing sponsorships, advertising programs, and other revenue generating business relationships with new marketing partners for the EducationPlus network of web properties.

    Essential Functions

    • Prospecting: Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities. Identify and research potential marketing partners; contact decision makers within each organization through cold-calling and networking within targeted categories
    • Presenting: Prepare unique and compelling presentations that showcase EducationPlus’ web properties as valuable sponsorship/marketing partnership assets. Present to prospective partners during in person meetings and on line webinars/calls
    • Closing: Negotiate and finalize sponsorship and marketing partnership agreements that maximize revenue for EducationPlus
    • Coordinate contract development and execution with EducationPlus Legal team and other appropriate internal team members through the entire contract process
    • Work in conjunction with the SVP Business and Product Development, CEO and other EducationPlus Sales and Marketing staff to develop and implement an effective annual business plan that will generate Corporate Partnerships in identified key categories
    • Work in tandem with the EducationPlus Product team in order to generate sponsorship ideas, share "best practices" and development strategies that maximize Corporate Partnerships for the EducationPlus network of web properties

    Job Requirements and Qualifications

    • Business Development experience with Web properties targeting young adult (17-34) consumers preferred
    • Understanding of, and experience with, On-line Lead Generation activities also preferred
    • Able to travel for industry events and standard business meetings as necessary up to approximately 30% of the time

    Education:

    • BS/BA in Business or related field from an accredited college or university

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years related web property business development or sales experience is required

    Knowledge, skills and abilities

    • Strong understanding of, and decision maker relationships within, the consumer advertiser and marketing partner ecosystem
    • Impeccable writing and verbal communication skills
    • Experience negotiating advertising, sponsorship and marketing partner contracts
    • The ability to manage multiple tasks in an extremely fast paced environment
    • Must be extremely organized and have a focus on detail
    • Flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment

    Special Information (Travel required, physical requirements, etc.):

    • Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals and projects
    • Ability to sit for long periods of time
    • This role will require travel of up to 30%
