The primary role of the Business Development Manager (BDM) is to support the Medical Distributor in closing, activating and supporting new points of distribution among
for hearing aids in their respective geography.
All lead generation and setting of meetings are the responsibility of the Medical Distributor.
About 20% of the job is closing the sale and 80% is training and coaching.
Build Close Relationship with Medical Distributor Sales Reps
Attend Medical Distributor team meetings and create 1:1 opportunities to get to know the Medical Distributor Team Leader and Sales Reps on an individual level to create a trusting, professional, and mutually beneficial relationship.
Ensure Ongoing “Qualified Meeting” Pipeline
Proactively work with the Medical Distributor Sales Reps to establish qualified meetings with decision makers at Physician offices.
and Close the
Either with the Medical Distributor Sales Rep (preferred) or on own, present the business opportunity to the decision makers at Physician offices. Ask for and get the business, establishing new points of distribution.
Install and setup the testing and fitting software on Physician office PC.
Provide Training and Coaching
Train the Physician and/or staff members in the system and approach to institutionalize the process within the practice and ensure they are 100% proficient in both the operation and selling of the solution to their patient. Provide coaching and guidance in the art of providing hearing aids to their patients.
Maintain a relationship with the Physician Office to ensure maximization of the business opportunity.
Develop and Present Monthly Reviews to Supervisor
Utilizing reporting template, provide a comprehensive view of the Region and Accounts, including goals, strategies, tactics, results-to-date and concrete plans going forward. Convert data into actionable insights. Develop and present recommendations..
Perform special projects or other duties as determined by supervisor.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be familiar with and have experience fitting and selling hearing aids.
Ideal candidate would have experience as an Audiologist, Hearing Instrument Specialist, or for a hearing aid company for at least 2 years.

Bachelor's degree required. Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience dispensing hearing aids.
Must have demonstrated success in solution-based (vs. product-based) selling skills and sales management principals.
