The purpose of the Business Manager is to act as the point person for Oil Trading Front office support- for the US liquids business activities and to work in concert with the broader energy

infrastructure management and commercial business heads and traders of various oil products:
  • Provide oversight to the oil liquids business by liaising with senior management, logistics, operations, commercial trading teams on day-to-day business operations
  • Engage with infrastructure and commercial leadership to drive effective business decisions to completion, ensuring objectives are accomplished in a timely manner
  • Report regularly on business activities and status updates on key business goals across multiple departments and product lines
  • Develop office budgets and assist in analyzing and managing overhead costs
  • Manage and negotiate key business agreements and contracts for non-trading activities
  • Work with infrastructure and Trading Managers to resolve employee challenges related to accomplishing key business goals.
  • Assist the Global Head of Energy and Managing Director of Oil Liquid with business planning, budgeting, trade execution activities, new deal integration and other special projects and business initiatives related to the advancement of profitability and efficiency of the US oil liquids business
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of aspects of Physical Oil trading in the US and internationally within either an oil major, a commodity trading firm or an investment bank with physical activities
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of financial operations, physical logistics, regulatory requirements, business planning, forecasting and budgeting and experience with trading floor dynamics
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, etc.) is highly desired
  • Persuasion and influencing ability without direct reports
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with employees across all levels of the organization to motivate achievement of business goals
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment with composure and confidence
Required Experience
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience within oil liquids physical trading business, focusing on both operational and commercial sides of business management
  • Experience working with both commercial and operational stakeholders across product lines and geographies is required
  • Engagement with business and cross functional teams as a leader and SME on commercial issues
  • Experience providing senior management reporting on business needs and challenges
