The Vendor Collaboration Manager will provide sales and analytic services of its represented suppliers, to the customer and operating divisions through the development of new corporate process’ and programs specific to our Daymon retail customer’s Vendor Collaboration Group. The individual is accountable for representing a group of suppliers that sell to the customer in all aspects of our Daymon retail customers Vendor Collaboration Program.

This individual is assigned to represent all Own Brand categories in the Vendor Collaboration Department and is responsible for achieving private label sales and share growth in those categories on behalf of the Director of Vendor Collaboration of our Daymon retail customer and Daymon Director. The individual works in tandem with a number of Category Managers, Suppliers, Vendor Management Analysts and is responsible for executing own brand and procurement strategies for the customer. Developing category insights and strategies, to measure performance and creating action plans are key elements of the position.

This position will be challenged with developing new and maintaining corporate process’ and programs specific to our Daymon retail customer’s Vendor Collaboration Group that deliver key category insights and contribute to the development and effective execution of customer strategies.

The position will need to clearly demonstrate both their and Daymon’s value added contributions within the Vendor Collaboration Group and with our supplier partners.

Duties, Responsibilities and Expected Contributions

Build customer and supplier relationships needed to effectively position the business for growth.

Develop and manage strong working relationships with represented supplier partners, our Daymon retail customer’s Merchandising Teams, RSI Retail Channel Director and Analysts

Develop and execute strategy for increasing Daymon revenue by presenting and selling Daymon services and increasing sales on current items/ Programs

Develop strategic and tactical plans to deliver against objectives.

Achieve budgeted sales and revenue targets

Drive profitable sales for our Supplier Partners through the implementation of effective sales strategies.

Effectively communicate benefits and product information of our Supplier Partner’s product offerings to Ahold merchandising. (Sell new corporate brand items and secure approval for Daymon represented suppliers for existing items)

Conduct competitive retail audits, review retail price spreads vs. national brands and make retail pricing recommendations to ensure sales success.

Conduct structured business reviews on behalf of represented suppliers with customer to assess effectiveness, results and impact of sales programs.

Sell new distribution and maintain distribution of represented SKU's

Continually identify new business opportunities for Daymon Worldwide and developing new business leads.

Work closely with Daymon Director on agreed upon objectives.

Provide quantitative and qualitative weekly reporting of activities to include results on key initiatives, sales results, opportunities and item distribution.

Develop strategic and tactical plans to deliver against objectives as set by our Supplier Partners.

Achieve sales growth targets for all represented Own Brand Items

Maintain relationships with key suppliers for all issues: development, replenishment, product distribution, communication of sales opportunities, promotions etc.

Be the key contact for resolving issues with private label suppliers in their categories.

Utilize high level analytical ability and creativity to analyze complex/ new situations, anticipates potential problems, future trends, assess opportunities, impacts and risks while developing and implementing plans a solution deliverables to customer problems.


a) Experience Required

Bachelors Degree Required, MBA preferred

5+ years in Retail Grocery and/or CPG Industry

3+ years sales and marketing experience

b) Functional Knowledge and Business Expertise Required

Lean/Six Sigma Experience (Certified or Seeking Certification)

Strong negotiation skills

Good relationship building skills

Executive Level communication and Business Case Presentations

Ability to influence without authority

Advanced MS Office Skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong analytic skills (gathers critical data, translates analysis of an opportunity to sales volume and share growth)

Solid Understanding of forecasting, replenishment and category management policies

Proven Management Skills: Conceptualizing, planning, estimating, executing

Strong skills and knowledge merchandising

Complete understanding of Category Management and or experience working for Consumer Packaged Goods preferred. Private Label business a plus.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrated accomplishments in sales, marketing, category management, product development, business management, negotiations, procurement, and merchandising.
