The Business Process Specialist-Operations, a black-belt individual that is responsible for leading and implementing efforts that are focused on standard operational procedures and improvements. Working with the SVP of Operations and the management team to identify, analyze, develop and implement SOP’s that drive improvements within Rural/Metro.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

Process Improvement
  • Recommend and develop business metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and then lead on identified improvements through all stages of the basic Six Sigma process (DMAIC) across various areas of field operations.
  • Research and recommend possible solutions.
  • Develop SOP’s to support the R/M field organization.
  • Document via flowcharting existing processes, identify fail points and develop potential solutions.
  • Identify or conceptualize process/system improvements.
  • Calculate financial cost & benefits; validate results with process owners.
  • Lead process improvement approval process for field organization.
  • Develop improvement effort timelines, key mileposts and resource needs tracking system.
  • Determine improvement exit points.
  • Manage process improvement implementation, escalations, cost and scope.
  • Provide coaching support to organization’s managers to support their standard operational procedures.
Compliance:
  • Complies and enforces all policies and procedures.
  • Has successfully completed all required Compliance Training within the required time period.
  • Has had no compliance related corrective action during the current review period.
Qualifications:
  • Self-directed team player with the ability to manage multiple active improvements.
  • Pro-active, process driven, with a strong focus on understanding of the business drivers and values.
  • Must be a results oriented, change agent, with the ability to successfully interface with all levels and areas of the organization, establish close working relationships, and build consensus for chosen solutions.
  • Ability to quantify impact to process metrics and financials.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to problem solving.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft suites of office products, specifically MS Project and Visio.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and highly driven.
  • Proven influence and collaboration skills and ability to effectively interact with management to identify, develop, and implement process improvements.
  • Experience with project management; experience in Lean or Six Sigma projects preferred.
  • Able to be flexible and adapt to different work groups, work styles, and work environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including presenting to large groups.
  • Experience with project management; experience in Lean or Six Sigma projects preferred.
  • Works well in collaborative work environment.
  • Travel 25% in field operations.

Qualifications:

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree a plus.
  • Experienced Six Sigma Black Belt, or in progress certification required.
  • 4+ years of business experience in a service, financial or healthcare environment.
