Job Summary:
Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of a formal disaster recovery plan that includes effective process flow from documentation, testing and implementation.

Essential Duties:
Maintains all documentation related to disaster recovery and provides updates to management on a regular basis.

Coordinates recovery plan logistics.

Assists in the development, maintenance and communication of plans related to disaster recovery including its processes and relevant tools.

Develops a standardized process flow chart for the disaster recovery scenarios.

Facilitates regular disaster recovery meetings to track scheduled and non-scheduled changes.

Assists in the business impact analyses and documents critical business systems for organizational units.

Identifies acceptable recovery times and determines resources required for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster.

Plans and coordinates the testing of recovery support and business resumption procedures in different functional areas. Assures that recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of key corporate resources and for the resumption of critical business processes.

Develops and maintains standards and procedures for recovery documentation.

Maintains a library of recovery support and business resumption and emergency response procedures.

Develops emergency response procedures; distributes and updates emergency procedures to reflect changes in staff size, location, organization, and home office facilities.

Monitors the effectiveness of procedures during evacuation drills and revises the procedures as necessary.

Will require some on-call coverage responsibilities

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related technical field is required.

Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or Associate Disaster Recovery planner accreditation is strongly preferred.

Experience:
5+ years experience in a IT/disaster recovery environment required.

2+ years experience working in a disaster recovery capacity required.

May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience writing process documentation including diagram workflows.

Familiarity with audit control processes and hot-site recovery.

Maintains contact with outside contingency planning professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups.

Conducts recovery training for staff members in assigned functional areas.

Provides instructional and informational materials on how staff is expected to respond during an emergency.

Works will all ITS functions to establish comprehensive disaster recovery plan

Work with business areas as appropriate to develop site-specific disaster recovery plans

Assists departments in the assignment and training of staff.

Work with enterprise architecture groups to ensure disaster recovery capabilities are incorporated in overall architecture
