Job description

PTC’s IT Business Systems group is responsible for building and managing solutions that enable PTC’s internal business processes. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager provide program and or project management services for both strategic and tactical initiatives. This role typically manages one or more highly complex projects or programs that have significant impact across PTC leveraging best practices driven by PMI’s Body of Knowledge, specifically using Agile principles. This individual is ultimately responsible for the successful execution of one or more programs or projects by managing people (project Managers, suppliers, management and co-workers) with different skills who have been brought together as a team to complete a program of work according to a plan and budget.

Primary Responsibilities: §

Works directly with the project sponsor and/or the steering committee, representing the sponsor’s vision & perspectives. §

Project Scope & Strategy - Leads the definition of scope, producing a project charter and presenting the strategy to manage the specific project. §

Project Team - Builds & assembles the appropriate participants to complete the assigned project according to plan and budget. §

Project Liaison - Coordinates activities between involved parties including business and IT. §

Project Planning - Creates and maintains a project plan and provides associated status tracking according to the project deliverables, their scheduled delivery dates, and associated budget. §

Project Management - Manages the project through all stages of the project life cycle adhering to defined scope, budget, and allotted timeframe. §

Project Communication - Functions as central point of project communication and status for project team, stakeholders and management. §

Risk and Escalation - Identifies project risks and dependencies, establishes mitigation plans, and escalates them as necessary §

Project cost control Create and manage all program costs – permanent and contracting resources, software, hardware, travel, other expenses etc

Preferred Skills and Experience
·


Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Business Management
·
5 years of Program / Project Management experience in a systems development or product development organization leveraging waterfall and agile methodologies.
·
2+ years’ experience in handling senior business executives and can facilitate groups to common goal and/or solutions
·
2+ years’ experience in managing globally distributed teams and related processes
·
Experience in Six Sigma disciplines or PMP certification would be a plus .

Skills and Knowledge
·


Strong project management skills demonstrated for challenging client, inter-related or technically oriented projects.
·
Experience in demonstrating leadership/influence and collaboration in a matrix-managed environment, and across multiple and diverse groups.
·
Experience in implementing Salesforce based projects
·
Critical thinker with good judgment and initiative.
·
Strong understanding of Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) Methodology.
·
Strong written and oral / presentation skills.
·
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work across the organization and interact/influence/negotiate effectively at all levels of management and peers.
