Client seeks a developer/programmer to join the analytics team. You will be part of a growing energy trading hedge fund based in the Galleria area of Houston. Primary responsibilities will be to develop and support data centric applications with web based user interfaces on PC and mobile devices. Other responsibilities will include working with trading and operations teams to develop and maintain data critical, time-critical analytics output. The ideal candidate will have some experience working for a trading or energy marketing firm.

Responsibilities will include:
• Develop and support data centric applications for trader use of analytics outputs
• Develop and code proprietary user interfaces for mobile and PC devices
• Work with fundamental team to develop and maintain data in the acquisition, storage and analytics processes
• Work with members of team to uncover business needs, develop design strategies, communicate and implement design solutions and improve overall interface process
• Design, develop and maintain new database structures
• Create new database structures for integration of existing data sets
The successful candidate is likely to have the following background and skill set:
• Must have experience and skills in ASP, ASPX, Jscript, JQuery, VB.Net, C#, VB6, MSSQL Server 2008 R2, HTTP
• Skills and experience in SSAS, MDX, CSS, and VBA are also valuable
• Experience (2-6 years) in the trading or energy industries is a plus as is options knowledge
• Proven ability to work in a cross-discipline, open and creative team
• Highly creative, detail-oriented, passionate about delivering the best user experience possible
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to work independently and juggle multiple projects at a time
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline is desired, though candidates with equivalent experience will be considered
• Legal authorization to work in the US on a full time basis for anyone other than current employer
