The City of Fort Worth, City Managers Office, is seeking qualified applicants to work as freelance camera operators to direct and/or produce quality cable television programming for community viewing, to provide technical assistance in videotaping, editing and revising cable television programs; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Successful candidates will be able to perform the following job functions:
Direct and/or produce quality cable television programming for community viewing
Coordinate the setup of various equipment for taping including cameras, lighting, microphones, teleprompter and stage props
Evaluate remote shooting locations for proper lighting, audio acoustics and environmental setting; plan camera shots, angles and composition
Operate a variety of video production equipment and cameras; video tape footage for assigned program; edit programs for final production Skills / Requirements
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course works in radio, television or film production or a related field PLUS three (3) years of increasingly responsible television production experience. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with writing and producing.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid drivers license is required.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: City of Fort Worth policy on acceptable driving record required.
Studio and field environment; travel from site to site; exposure to electrical energy.
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; lifting and carrying moderately heavy (e.g. 50-75 pounds) objects such as microphones, scaffolding, monitors and/or speakers; operating motorized equipment and vehicles.
