Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
Responsible for the drafting and preparation of construction plans for water/sewer, streets and drainage improvements, exhibits, misc. maps and other documents as required.
Prepare construction and miscellaneous drawings as required.
Assist in record management and software evaluation and purchases.
Provide information to the public regarding record drawings.
Assist engineers in preparing engineering plans for street, drainage, water, sewer and other improvements.
Prepare plans and drawings using accepted standard drafting practices for both city and industry standards.
Assist surveyor in preparing documents and exhibits for surveys, land acquisitions exhibits, property maps and right of way maps.
Assist surveyor and engineers in preparing base drawings form raw point data collected by surveyors.
Assist land agents in preparing informational exhibits for use in property, right of way, and easement acquisition.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Secondary Job Duties:
Review incoming information for accuracy and adequacy.
Review existing data for accuracy and adequacy.
Make recommendations for specifications on GIS maps.
Assist biweekly staff meetings and other meetings with engineers, surveyors, ad agents as required.
Develop and maintain City of Fayetteville drafting standards, standard drawings and other standard plan development systems.
Perform secondary duties as assigned
High School Diploma or GED and two years of related experience and or training; Associate’s degree (A.A.) from two year college or technical school is preferred with two years of related experience.
Must be proficient in the use of Computer Aided Drafting software (CAD), AutoCAD, and AutoCAD add-ons in preparing construction drawings, exhibits and other computer drawings.
Must be proficient in the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software.
Effectively communicate with others orally and in writing.
Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, thorough knowledge of plotter, scanner and printer and other related software programs. Must be able to effectively operate standard office equipment.
While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities required to perform essential functions.
