Business Continuity plan maintenance and managing events:
  • Coordinate planning activities relating to business continuity and disaster recovery in the event of an incident that threatens personnel, buildings, or organizations; and requires special measures to restore operations back to normal.
  • Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas when business disruption occurs.
  • Oversee activities necessary to develop recovery strategies and priorities and contingency coordination procedures by –
1. Validating and prioritizing key processes, operational requirements and technology needs to determine state of recoverability evaluating the likelihood and impacts of each threat, reviewing and providing recommendations on action of risk evaluations and studies
2. Coordinating continuity planning activities to ensure the BCP is aligned with Client’s and information technology disaster recovery plans
  • Coordinate and assist in managing a business continuity function that supports building and maintaining department-level BCP’s for all office locations and minimizes the administrative burden associated with sustaining BCP’s at the business unit level.
  • Update and maintain plans required as part of contract deliverables, including but not limited to, Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and call center disaster recovery plans, which manage the risks which could result in disastrous events and minimize the likelihood of the disaster occurring; reduces the time taken to recover when an incident occurs; and minimize the risks involved in the recovery process by making the critical decisions in advance.
  • Conduct annual exercises of business continuity plans – develop scenarios, prepare documentation, facilitate exercises, document corrective actions, and update plans.
  • Provide consultative support in the development and administration of business continuity contracts and subscriptions, including service level agreements with business continuity service providers. Perform regular reviews of existing contracts to ensure they provide all required equipment and services.
  • Support the development and implementation of operational readiness plans for new business growth.
  • Document and publish business requirements (current and future) to key stakeholders.
Disaster Recovery

  • Coordinate planning, response and restoration activities for operational continuity client in the event of an incident that threatens personnel, buildings or the organization and requires special measures to be taken to restore operations back to normal.
  • Establish disaster recovery testing methodologies and coordinate/execute regular testing activities to verify plan viability. Direct business unit preparation of and onsite support for all phases of recovery testing, including the coordination of the information technology components.
  • Oversee activities necessary to develop disaster recovery strategies and priorities and contingency coordination procedures.
  • Provide consultative support in the development and administration of business continuity contracts and subscriptions, including service level agreements with business continuity service providers. Perform regular reviews of existing contracts to ensure they provide all required equipment and services.
  • Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas when business disruption occurs.
  • Build and maintain effective business relationships with key customers
  • Prepare artifacts for internal/external audits for business continuity/disaster recovery.
Training and awareness

  • Support activities for a company-wide training program that includes developing and maintaining multi-tiered awareness programs for employees at all levels – from general BCP awareness to training for emergency response situations.
Performs other duties, as the supervisor may, from time to time, deem necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; at least 5 years in a business continuity / disaster recovery related field. Must understand concepts and have a working knowledge of telecommunication in a technology environment. Knowledge of application development with an understanding of concepts and definitions.
