Candidate will be part of a collection team responsible for equipment setup, sample collection, initial processing, and packaging, and preparation for lab testing of environmental media in the MD and National Capitol Region (NCR) and at various locations across the United States.

Due to the nature of the job requirements, candidate must be able to assist with lifting heavy equipment in and out of vehicles (approx 160 lbs). Part-time hours are typically evening hours (3-4 nights; 4-4.5 hours per shift) per week with a starting time at 4:30 pm. Candidate can expect to be scheduled for weekends, and may be asked to travel within the Continential US for periods up to 2 - 3 nights at a time.

Candidate must be a U.S citizen and hold a SECRET clearance.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
•Obtain the equipment from storage locations, test units to ensure operational functionality, and transport to all required site installations.
•Collect environmental media, package and prepare for initial lab testing
•Prepare daily and monthly activity reports
Basic Qualifications
Active SECRET Clearance
Ability to work flexible hours/shifts
Ability to travel on short notice
Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and must be able to work independently. He/She must be able to follow written and oral instructions and carry out tasks safely with minimal supervision and oversight.
Candidate should have a strong customer focus.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license or the ability to meet the transportation requirements of this position.
Desired skills
Knowledge in the operation of sample collection systems, field test methods, collection of field data is desired.
Knowledge of sampling methods and quality assurance procedures as applied to collection, transport, and preliminary processing of environmental samples is a plus. Experience in field deployment of mechanical equipment and operation.
Background in CBRN environment
HAZWOPER certification or HAZMAT training
B.S. degree in a scientific discipline or 3 years experience in related field
