The primary purpose of this position is to provide advanced database programming support for the Medical Center's Cerner HNA Millennium and other clinical information systems. Provide technical support of advanced features (e.g., clinical alerts and rules), development of MPages, and custom reports using Cerner's CCL with applied knowledge of SQL and ORACLE. Analysis and resolution of system problems often involves detailed investigation of data stored in the database, which also requires an understanding of the CIS data model. Apply an advanced level of programming experience to service sophisticated report requests, and mentor other members of our staff who provide related Application Analyst services.
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; and two years related experience.Working knowledge of and practical experience using Cerner Corporation's CCL or ORACLE-SQL.
Experience with UNIX shell scripts, Cerner HNA Millennium clinical application environments, and MPages preferred.
Must demonstrate a solid understanding of the role of information systems in supporting the business of providing health care to patients, and the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information. Direct experience in hospital or other health-care provider environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrated record of reliability, especially in mission-critical support situations. Willingness to provide mission-critical support at any time of day or night.
Demonstrated proficiency with standard PC application software, such as Outlook, Microsoft Office, and PC based reporting software.
Excellent communication and organizational skills and a positive attitude towards customer service are essential.
